Celebrating

Black Maternal Health Week

April 11th–17th, 2026

About The BMHW Community Calendar of Events

Welcome to our Community Events Calendar for BMHW 2026. This is a central hub highlighting meaningful activities happening across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Throughout the week, community organizations, advocates, clinicians, birth workers, and families will come together to host powerful conversations, healing spaces, advocacy events, workshops, film screenings, and community gatherings focused on advancing Black maternal health.

This calendar is designed to help you easily discover opportunities to learn, connect, support, and take action in your community. Whether you are a parent, birth worker, healthcare professional, policymaker, or community member, we invite you to explore the events, participate, and share them with others.

Together, we uplift the voices, solutions, and lived experiences that are driving change and improving outcomes for Black mothers, birthing people, and families.

About Black Maternal Health Week

Black Maternal Health Week was founded by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA) to build awareness, activism, and community-driven solutions that advance Black maternal health, rights, and justice. Organizations across the country participate by hosting events that amplify the voices of Black mamas and center the values and traditions of the reproductive and birth justice movements.

They encourage us to "Amplify the movement – Use your platform to uplift BMHW (#BMHW26) by sharing key messages, events, and advocacy actions that are outlined in this toolkit." The events featured here represent the collective efforts of organizations and advocates across our region who are committed to improving maternal health outcomes and strengthening support for Black families.

Champions for Collaboration

A Champion for Collaboration is an individual or organization committed to advancing Black maternal health by working in partnership with others—not in silos.

Champions help create real impact by sharing resources, amplifying community events, supporting equity-driven solutions, and building strong relationships across communities, birth workers, healthcare systems, and local leaders to improve outcomes for Black moms and families.
